Hologram of memory
**As a base of my visual experience/ study I use the hypothesis of neuropsychologist Karl Pribram. In his works he considers memory not as a localized function but a hologram apportioned in the mind. Using the part of it one can recreate the whole. My work doesn't prove nor disprove given theory. I adopt the idea of memory hologram and build up imaginative texture of memories as a form of personal experience revealed as an archetype. My work is created as protagonist's memories, with all their imperfections and illogicality. The memories appear chaotically as flashbacks that make the series pulsate. Although you can find some time references (childhood, youth, growing up) there is no linearity nor purpose. Main goal is a comprehension of memory mechanisms, the process of remembering and transformation into artistic form to be specific. Artistic image as an instrument of documentation. **
In his hypothesis Karl Pribram assumes that memory hologram is created by the imposition of electromagnetic waves, he describes the process of building memories using hologram metaphor. If you move it in front of the ray of the lazer the images appear and disappear on it coherently. In other words if we can't remember an image, it means that we use wrong angle of the light or the ray is too dim to highlight the memory. Eidetics, the type of people with phenomenal memory, have figurative perception of reality, they remember images with smell, taste and other sensations. Maybe these emotions can awaken bright and precise images of memories in everyone. All that is necessary is the right angle. Pribram also assumes that eyesight has geographical principle. He bases his ideas not only on experiments and studies but also on discoveries of different physicists, especially David Bohm. According to Bohm, whole universe is giant multidimensional hologram and the material world may be the universe's deeper level projection as an image on the hologram is a projection of real objects. Another idea of David Bohm also connects with Karl Pribram's theory. Bohm assumes that every object in the universe are connected to each other and are the parts of the same hologram, every part of the universe is a whole macrocosm. Uniting Bohm and Pribram's theories we get that our mind not only observes the hologram but also creates it.
